Frequently
asked questions

The questions we hear most, from ordering and grades to certificates and storage. Can’t find what you need? Email the lab and a scientist will get back to you within one working day.

Ordering

Add materials to your cart from the library or any product page, then enter a delivery address at checkout. You’ll receive an order confirmation straight away, followed by a dispatch email with tracking once the order leaves the lab.

No. Checkout only needs an email address and a delivery address. Institutional customers who order regularly can request an account for consolidated invoicing, saved shipping addresses and a single view of every certificate they’ve received.

Yes. Universities, hospitals and research institutes can order on net-30 terms against a purchase order. Email the PO to orders@nuvamin.bio with the NVM codes and quantities, and we’ll return a pro-forma invoice within one working day. We also accept major credit cards and bank transfer.

For ten or more vials of a single material, or for recurring monthly orders, we offer tiered pricing and can reserve vials from one lot so a whole study runs on identical material. Contact the lab with your expected volumes.

Orders can be changed or canceled free of charge until they are packed, which is usually within a few hours. Reply to your confirmation email or write to orders@nuvamin.bio with your order number as soon as possible.

Materials & grades

Every material in the library has a permanent NVM code. In the catalog range, the tens digit identifies the family: NVM-01x cellular cofactors, NVM-02x metabolic substrates, NVM-03x analytical standards and NVM-04x molecular reagents. Codes from NVM-100 upward are Nuvamin’s own multi-component reference panels.

Codes are never changed or reused, so you can cite them in methods sections and inventory systems.

Research grade materials are typically ≥98% pure by HPLC and suited to general biochemical and cell-culture work. Molecular biology grade adds testing for nuclease and protease activity. Analytical standards are ≥99.5% pure, supplied neat, with water content and chiral purity reported for calibration use. Reference grade panels are gravimetrically composed and verified for component ratio as well as purity.

The Nuvamin 2R system uses one borosilicate glass vial, one crimped aluminum seal and one label layout for the entire library. It fits standard 2R racks and cryoboxes, keeps freezer inventory uniform, and means the lot number, grade and storage conditions are always in the same place on the label.

Each band identifies a family at a glance: sage for cellular cofactors, sand for metabolic substrates, steel blue for analytical standards, mauve for molecular reagents, and graphite for reference materials. Browse by color in the library.

Materials are supplied in 10, 25 or 50 mg presentations. Each vial is filled gravimetrically to the stated mass, and the net content is recorded on the lot certificate. Reference panels state the total mass and the ratio of each component.

No. All Nuvamin materials are for research use only. They are not intended for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and are not for human or veterinary use, or for use as food, cosmetics or household products.

Certificates

Each certificate records the material, NVM code, CAS number, lot, release date and retest date, followed by every release test with its method, specification and result: appearance, identity by 1H-NMR and LC-MS, purity by HPLC, water content by Karl Fischer titration, and residual solvents where relevant. It is signed off by quality control before the lot is released.

The lot number is printed beneath the grade on every vial label. Open the product page, expand Certificate of analysis and select the certificate for that lot. A printed copy is also included in every shipment.

Need a certificate for an older lot? Email the lot number to labs@nuvamin.bio and we’ll return the PDF.

Yes. HPLC chromatograms, mass spectra and NMR spectra are retained for every released lot and are available on request. Customers often use them for regulatory submissions, method transfers and supporting information in publications.

A GHS-format Safety Data Sheet is available for every material and is emailed with your order confirmation. For a copy before ordering, contact labs@nuvamin.bio with the NVM code.

Certificates, raw analytical data and retained samples are archived for five years from the release date of each lot, so any vial in your freezer can be traced back to its complete analytical record.

Shipping & storage

In-stock orders are prepared for dispatch within one to two business days. Most shipments arrive within two to five business days after dispatch in North America, and three to seven in Europe. Tracking is emailed as soon as the parcel is collected.

Standard tracked shipping is a flat $9.00, and free on orders of $150.00 or more. Institutional accounts can request consolidated or scheduled deliveries at no additional charge.

Materials stored at −20 °C or 2–8 °C ship in an insulated shipper with pre-conditioned cold packs, validated to hold temperature for 72 hours. Ambient-stable materials ship in standard protective packaging. Each product page states which applies.

We currently ship to eligible destinations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union. Customs duties and import taxes outside the United States are the recipient’s responsibility unless shown at checkout.

Store each vial as shown on its label and product page. That’s typically −20 °C for nucleotides and cofactors, 2–8 °C for thiols and lipids, and 15–25 °C for stable standards. Let cold vials reach room temperature before opening so moisture doesn’t condense on the material.

The retest date on each certificate is the date until which the lot is expected to remain within specification when stored as directed. We set it from our own stability data. It’s usually 24 months for solids stored cold and 36 months for ambient-stable standards.

Returns & support

Contact support@nuvamin.bio within 14 days of delivery with your order number, the lot number and a photograph of the issue. We’ll replace the material or refund it, and you won’t need to send a damaged vial back.

Because we can’t verify how a material was stored after delivery, opened or temperature-sensitive materials can’t be restocked. Unopened ambient-stable materials can be returned within 30 days for credit. See Shipping & Returns for the full policy.

Yes. Technical questions go straight to the scientists who release each lot. Send the NVM code, lot number and a short description of your method to labs@nuvamin.bio. We can retest retained samples from the same lot if needed.

We add materials to the library when there is consistent demand from research groups. If there’s a compound you’d like to see in the 2R format, let us know. Customer requests are how most new materials get added.
